The Flying Steps, four-time breakdance world champions and winners of the BZ Culture Prize, are now an institution. With their seemingly impossible power moves, spectacular productions and impressive acrobatics, they have danced their way into the hearts of audiences around the world.
What began on a cardboard box on Berlin's Ku'damm in 1993 now takes place on the glittering stages of the world's biggest venues. "We never wanted to stand still. We want to show what breakdancing is capable of as an art form. To create the possible from the impossible. The drive is always: 'Can't be done, doesn't exist'," says founder and creative director Vartan Bassil.
From cardboard boxes to the big stages of the world
He has already been able to fulfill his dream of moving from the cardboard box to the world's big stages: After all, Flying Steps productions have been attended by more than a million spectators and performed in over 40 countries.
Vartan also acted as Creative Director for the staging of the opening show in the SAP Garden "Flying Art of Movement" on September 28.
"We are all the more proud to be able to present 'Flying Bach' to the people of Munich in this unique sports arena", says Vartan Bassil.
