On September 27, the SAP Garden in Munich opened its doors to the public for the first time. EHC Red Bull München kicked off the Grand Opening with a game against the Buffalo Sabres from the National Hockey League (NHL). The following week, FC Bayern's basketball team will make their debut in the EuroLeague opener against Real Madrid.

The first sporting event in one of Europe's most modern sports arenas had it all. Four-time German ice hockey champions EHC Red Bull München hosted the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, September 27 at 8:30 pm. The Red Bulls' game against the Sabres is part of the "2024 NHL Global Series Challenge Germany presented by Fastenal". Buffalo prevailed 5:0 in a spectacular opening game.
Lots of action: the highlights of the open day
An open day followed on Saturday, September 28. Over the course of the entire day, all Munich residents were able to get a first, lasting impression of the new landmark of the state capital Munich and its many possibilities. Among other things, guests were able to experience the new video cube with a total projection area of 209 square meters in action. In addition, visitors were treated to various shows documenting the variety of uses of SAP Gardens.
