Countdown to the Grand Opening: 3 days, 3 additional ice rinks// GRAND OPENING3 days to go! The SAP Garden starts its Grand Opening week on September 27. In the ten days leading up to this, we provide ten interesting facts about Munich's new landmark.The SAP Garden is not just a new home for four-time German ice hockey champions EHC Red Bull München. The new multifunctional arena is now also the first port of call for all other sportspeople who are on the ice, whether professionally or as a hobby.
5,400 square meters spread over three ice rinks
Since the City of Munich handed over the facility to amateur and club sports on 12 August, three state-of-the-art underground ice rinks with a total ice surface area of around 5,400 square meters have been available for public ice skating, free skating, ice dancing and figure skating. These can be operated independently of the main building. Access is via entrance E6.

Home to a colorful mix of ice sports
Olympic sports such as figure skating, short track and curling can also be practiced here. One of the three ice rinks has a capacity of 600 spectators, while the other two rinks can accommodate 200 people each. Twelve changing rooms and several coaches' changing rooms are available for the junior teams.
