In addition, athletes from ice hockey, basketball, figure skating and gaming demonstrated the diversity of the new home of the Red Bull München ice hockey team and the FC Bayern München basketball team.

Hoeneß: "New prestige object for the city"
Christian Winkler, Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey, sees in the new multifunctional sports arena "a special venue at the top European level" growing up. Uli Hoeneß, Honorary President and Supervisory Board member at FC Bayern, acknowledges the importance of SAP Garden for Munich: "We can look forward to a new prestige object for the city."
A ticket raffle is running now until July 25, 2024 (12:00 a.m.) at sapgarden.com. Fans have the chance to win 100 special tickets for the grand opening event 2024 in the SAP Garden.
Steel roof of the SAP Garden is finished
Since November 2022, 18 truss girders, each weighing nearly 170 tons, have been lifted and installed for the SAP Garden roof structure. Now, in May 2023, the last 100 grams of a total of 5,000 tons of steel fell into place. The last nut, delivered to its destination by Red Bull skydivers Marco Waltenspiel and Max Manow via parachute jump, has been installed. The steel roof of the SAP Garden is finished.
It spans 13,094 square meters of floor space and will be landscaped with a flower meadow once all construction work has been completed. With the completion of the construction, Munich's new multifunctional sports arena in the Olympiapark has passed another milestone on the way to its opening.
Top-class sports, action, gaming, excellent catering and entertainment
When the SAP Garden opens in 2024, fans and spectators will be able to enjoy top-class sports, action, gaming, excellent catering and entertainment in the so-called "Bowl". Amateur and recreational athletes will also get their money's worth on the three additional covered ice rinks. National goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger and DEL Player of the Year Yasin Ehliz from German ice hockey champion Red Bull München, as well as Didier Mbida and Martin Kalu from FC Bayern Basketball, completed the very first demo training sessions on Center Field.

Lena Güldenpfennig - a top soccer player on the pitch and in FIFA gaming at RB Leipzig - gambled on the console in the Gaming Room, the future heart of Munich's gaming community.

The southern ice rink in the popular sports area was symbolically inaugurated by synchronized figure skaters from the Munich Synchro Family.
"You can see how the SAP Garden is growing every day. We are already looking forward to this arena becoming a new focal point not only for professional sports, but also for leisure and mass sports. The Olympiapark and the city of Munich will be one attraction richer," emphasizes Munich's Third Mayor Verena Dietl.
"Professional ice hockey and basketball, ice skating for families or many other events - the SAP Garden will fill the city with new life," says Hoeneß, looking forward to the possibilities of the new arena. Together with Dietrich Mateschitz, he launched the "SAP Garden" project and is sure: "In connection with this arena, everyone will get a completely new relationship to sports."

Even more inspiring content is offered by developer and operator Red Bull Stadion München GmbH at sapgarden.com. The new website went online in the course of the "topping-out ceremony" and now presents fans and interested parties with lots of information, pictures, figures and facts. In addition, for the first time, renderings of the future hospitality areas and an exemplary VIP box.
Another important function: ticketing. All supporters of the Red Bull München ice hockey club can already book their season tickets for the 2024/25 season after using the digital arena plan to virtually test the view from their favorite seat. The new site is also the right place for business customers to find contacts on the topics of third events, use of the shell, VIP boxes or hospitality.
Christian Winkler, Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey, also sees new opportunities in the SAP Garden from a sporting point of view: "We are currently experiencing a very moving time at EHC Red Bull München: We have finally become German champions again. We are starting our mission to defend the title with a new coach. And we are seeing the next milestone of a new era clearly taking shape in the Olympiapark," explains Winkler, welcoming the SAP Garden as a further incentive to top performance: "The roof of the SAP Garden is now finished and everyone can clearly see: A special venue of top European standard is being built here. The SAP Garden is growing towards completion. We have one more reason to bang out everything we've got so that our top arena and our top team can offer our fans both successful ice hockey and super entertainment next year in perfect harmony."
