Ready for ice hockey: ice on the main playing surface// NEWSThe most important step for the Grand Opening game of EHC Red Bull München on September 27 has been taken: The ice of the main playing surface is waiting to be tested in the duel between EHC Red Bull München and the NHL team of the Buffalo Sabres. Just over three weeks ago, the City of Munich opened the three additional underground grassroots sports areas in the SAP Garden. The handover from the city to the sport marked the start of public operation and has been a great success ever since.
With the completion of the ice on the main playing surface, the way is now clear for top-class ice hockey matches by EHC Red Bull München.
The shining center
A lot has happened around the ice rink in recent weeks. Now that the seating shells have been installed and the video cube has been put into operation, the most important element at the heart of the stadium has been tackled: the ice.
First, the 1,739.39 square meter concrete surface was cooled down to the appropriate temperature for several days, after which the ice preparation could begin. The LED boarding around the main playing surface has also already been installed.

The Red Bulls will test the ice for the first time in the already sold-out clash with the Buffalo Sabres. Tickets for the DEL debut against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg are also already sold out. Tickets for the home games between October 4 and November 1 are still available here.
