Public ice skating starts on 12 August - tickets available nowCity of Munich hands over ice rinks to recreational and club sports// NEWSOver 7900 hours on three state-of-the-art ice rinks: Mayor Verena Dietl and sports officer Florian Kraus officially handed over the underground ice rinks in the new SAP Garden to recreational and club sports at a press event today.From 12 August, all athletes and visitors can use the SAP Garden daily for ice hockey, public skating and much more. Tickets are now available online via the SAP Garden ticket shop.
One of the three ice rinks, the so-called "Hall 1", is even equipped with a grandstand. This offers space for up to 500 spectators, providing a new home for small to medium-sized ice sports events. There have never been more ice rinks under one roof in Munich.

Mayor Verena Dietl: "The SAP Garden is an impressive example of how modern infrastructure and sports promotion can go hand in hand. As the state capital of Munich, we can use this fantastic new multifunctional arena in the Olympic Park to jointly promote school and club sport as well as popular and competitive sport. I am delighted that we can offer this public ice skating facility to the clubs and the people of Munich."

The city council had already set the prices for public ice skating in July. Adults pay the regular price of 9.50 euros for two hours, children (4 - 12 years) 4.50 euros. The price for young people (13 - 17 years) is 6.50 euros. All ice sports such as free skating, artistic skating or ice dancing cost 15 euros; tickets for these times must be purchased separately. A visitor ticket costs 2 euros.
